MobixMDMPrivacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the MobixMDM mobile device management (MDM) client collects on managed Android devices, why it is collected, how it is protected, and your rights.
1. Scope & consent
The MobixMDM client is installed by an organization on devices it owns or manages, as a Device Owner (Android Enterprise). By enrolling a device, the organization agrees to inform its users of this management. The app is intended for company-owned and professional devices.
2. Information we collect
The client collects only data necessary to manage and secure the device:

We do not collect personal content such as messages, photos, browsing history, contacts or keystrokes, and we do not use any data for advertising.
3. Accessibility Service disclosure
MobixMDM uses Android's AccessibilityService solely to provide remote support and screen sharing requested or authorized by your organization's IT administrators — to view the screen and, when needed, perform actions to troubleshoot the device remotely. This is the only purpose of the accessibility permission. It is not used to collect data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to device management. Screen sharing runs only during an active support session and respects screen-capture policy.
4. How information is used
- Enforce the organization's security policies (kiosk mode, restrictions, password rules);
- Show device inventory, health and compliance in the administration console;
- Deploy and update authorized applications;
- Provide remote support, lock, reboot or wipe of a lost or stolen device.
5. Data sharing
Device data is transmitted only to the MDM server operated by your organization. MobixMDM (the software vendor) does not receive, store or sell your data. No data is shared with third parties for advertising or marketing.
6. Security
All communication between the device and the server is encrypted in transit using TLS (HTTPS/WSS). Each device request is additionally signed with a per-device secret using HMAC-SHA256 to guarantee authenticity and integrity. Access to the console is protected by authentication and role-based access control.
7. Data retention
Data is retained for as long as the device remains enrolled and according to the retention settings configured by your organization. When a device is decommissioned or wiped, its management data can be removed by the administrator.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because MobixMDM is self-hosted, please direct these requests to your organization (the data controller). MobixMDM will assist organizations in honoring such requests.
9. Children
MobixMDM is an enterprise product and is not directed to children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date.
